@HannibalAteMeOut she's not white. Lot of persians identify as white, were taught to think of themselves as white and having Aryan blood, a pride thing.

But are considered people of colour elsewhere because of theier mixed ancestry and their ethnicties, Persians, Azeri Turks, Kurds, Baluchis, Arabs, Armenians..

@MartinTheFirst what do you mean, have you seen how we look? We're caucasian, many greeks are so pale they get red as a tomato when they get out in the sun 😆 do I look like I'm anything else?
@Miram I guess because many of them are white-passing they consider themselves white and so they are okay to be in that position in order to stereotype people of other races. I don't know if she's caucasian or not, but yeah, she doesn't realize that it could very easily be her the one to get victimized by racism.

@HannibalAteMeOut Funny enough, I have a persian friend who considered himself white and used to look down on other ethnicities, and when he got to the US he was treated as bad as Arabs were treated. Got called a sand nigger in public.

I consider myself a mixed Amazigh. I get mistaken all the time for an Arab too especially since I master Arabic varieties.

I think the lines between ethnicities are naturally getting more and more blurred and in time it won't even matter.

It is only problematic when it's intentional to hijack an identity.

@Miram I'm living for a world where this won't matter at all. For now, I wish that at least the people who are more likely to be discriminated against will stick together and show solidarity, instead of trying to bring each other down in order to prove something to the privileged.
@Mona86 yeah, there are dark skinned greeks and fair skinned greeks, redhaired greeks with freckles and greeks who could pass for egyptians or for roma. So what's the problem? If fair skinned ones started discriminating against the dark skinned ones, Crete would have already been destroyed.
