Do you wonder why, in today's world, why parents (mothers) are willing to keep their adult kids at home, when they CAN choose to move out?

It's harder to get on your feet today than it was a couple of decades ago. Less housing, higher rent, more low level no promotion jobs, higher college/university prices etc.

I had to move back temporarily due to a house-mate being broke and nowhere to store furniture.

Home is home.
My kids can stay forever... but they dont want to.both are living away....but its looking likely my son will return. Its so hard these days to start out financially......

No I don’t wonder why. I understand why.

Taking care of younger siblings, going to university, helping maintain the house. It's also a normal thing to do in some cultures, like Italians.
