Do you have a hard time walking away from a pointless argument?

That depends on how emotionally invested I am in the person I'm arguing with, and how strongly I feel about what the argument is about. If it's with a stranger, and it's clear that my words are having no real effect and they seem hopelessly ignorant, it'a usually pretty easy to walk away. If it's someone I know well, and the relationship means a lot to me . . actually, then I tend to want to tread even more carefully, though I also want to make myself understood. But once I've made my point, if they still don't get it and don't have any real salient counterpoint, I'm usually pretty much done.
