Why do people in the movies always pull out the arrows or knives they've been stabbed with and keep on going like nothing happened?

From what I've heard that's actually pretty dangerous and could worsen things up for the wounded person as the object keeps you from bleeding out. I know it's fiction, but don't you think that's kinda too unrealistic?

Because movies suck at realism when it comes to blood, gore, and death it's all about what looks cool.
