I don't believe there are any sounds or sights which are inherently offensive. I think it's what we've been taught to think and APPLY to those sounds and sights which gives them the meanings they have.

In and of themselves, words do not offend since they have no power. It's the intention of the person saying it, and their usage that can be offensive, even if it's not one of the "dirty" words.
