Do u know what person gave u your first name ? 🤔

I heard that it was my dads idea for me to have my name. How ironic. What about you. Do you know what person gave you your name. And do you like your first name. 🙂

It's okay. Not bad. It's the one I'm used to! I don't think anyone is giving it to baby girls nowadays, though. And I don't know who thought of it.

@Poppies Hmmmmm. Ok Mary Ann. 😛

my mom...she named me after a guy that lived on the street she grew up on. She and her sisters were often picked on and targeted for harassment, he was constantly making sure they were protected.

@Keepitsimple Yep, compared to the rest of the sweeps, all three of us are pretty normal and sane. LOL

It was my grandad's middle name. I would have liked his first name better, though. i think i would have made an awesome Leroy !!!

Mine was given by my birth mother who I barely knew as "my aunt".. it's ok & was common for babies of late 70's. I had about 8 classmates with the same; boys & girls. I'm quite positive it isn't used nowadays...

@SW-User Beautiful. 🙂

My dad, but I'm named after my mom's best friend. Her husband and my father were stationed together in the military. And my first name was taken from my great great grandmother
Zonuss · 46-50, M
@Fungirlmmm Your dad gave you a lovely name. 🤗
Caprice · 41-45, F

My father. Like it far better than my middle name which was my mothers idea.
MrKota · 36-40
It was my dad, my mom wanted something more religious.
Zonuss · 46-50, M
@MrKota Its not bad having a religious name. 🙂

@Zonuss There isn't but she wanted to with a LDS name. She wanted to go with Brigham Oliver.
DragonFruit · 70-79, M
My parents agreed to name me after my uncle.
ChampagneOnIce · 51-55, F
My dad named me, and I like my name. :)
uncalled4 · 56-60, M
I was named for my great grandfather, who was a touring musician. I don't tour but play a lot of music. What's in a name?
Zonuss · 46-50, M
@uncalled4 🙂
Keepitsimple · 56-60, F
Not sure but they said it was the only name they could agree on. Trust me, it’s not common. They were smoking some serious shit I think.

I was the second of three kids. And while my mother was still carrying me he told her it was her turn to pick their baby's first name. So she had me christened Clive Colin ….
My father was absolutely furious when she came back from the registry and promptly banned the use of Clive and forever after I was referred to as Colin. 14 months later the prick walked out of the door and was never seen or heard from again.
