@Spiritualangel777 when the European elections were on I read a great piece that recommended for remainers that Boris became pm. Since he's the one guy who could actually reverse it all and somehow blather his way out of it. We'll see.

Apparently when briefed last week on no deal emergency plans he was "visibly shaken" as civil servants pointed out thier priorities.... Clean water (virtually all water treatment chemicals are imported and have very short shelf lives) and food (UK is massive net importer of food) were someway down the list below nuclear plant supplies to avoid a Chernobyl, vital life sustaining drugs etc.

All safe in Boris hands given his promises essentially assure a no deal exit given the lack of time and willingness from EU to renegotiate.

@SW-User PROJECT FEAR writ large. While the idea of Boris being "visibly shaken" about anything other than having his prostate removed is quite risible, the undying message you suggest is profoundly stupid. Around half UK's trade is with non-EU countries. Many of those are just salivating to become our suppliers once the pernicious EU tariff barriers are removed.

The vast majority of countries in the world manage very successfully to feed themselves, and provide clean water without being in any trading block or customs union.

Additionally, the idea that Germany or any other nation that we buy goods from will shut the door on income is but a parody of how the real world works. OK, a couple more pieces of electronic paperwork. But the price won't go up at the one the the UK will do is ELIMINATE import tariffs.

And just to illustrate your frail and fickle understanding of economics and UK constitutional matters, in an earlier post you said that once elected, an MP cannot be removed. Wrong. We have a recall mechanism that has already been activated successfully twice in this parliament. Would that it were more, but an MP can be fired by their constituents.

@Cynthia recalls are rare and I can't recall one for when an mp actually changed party mid term.

I don't claim to be an expert but.... We were promised 40 trade deals to be signed ready before March we have 12 currently signed.

I do hope you're right. I fear you're wrong and we're commiting a grave act of national madness that my children will have to bear the cost of for years and years to come. We walk away from the largest free market which had just done deals with Japan, Canada and the South American Big four and we start from zero. I'd have favoured remain and reform.

Good luck to Boris. If he proves me wrong honestly I could not be more happier. Again I wait to see....
It all does my head in tbh our country is a joke!! @SW-User

@SW-User I find the European stance on energy/electricity amusing tbh. You have countries like Germany that boast about their "green" energies while being totally reliant on Nuclear power from France (which is 2nd only to US in nuclear power production; and as such is the largest exporter of power in Europe due to it's low cost...)
