KINGSTON, Pa. (AP) — A Pennsylvania school district is warning that children could end up in foster care if their parents do not pay overdue school lunch bills.

The letters sent recently to about 1,000 parents in Wyoming Valley West School District have led to complaints from parents and a stern rebuke from Luzerne County child welfare authorities.

The district says that it is trying to collect more than $20,000, and that other methods to get parents to pay have not been successful. Four parents owe at least $450 apiece.

Not a fair comparison, China has no lunch program just to start.

There actually is a lot more to the story. See Fox news.

Yet I believe the situation is going into litigation. Feds have said that district has more than enough money to feed every student in all schools.

@DeWayfarer Exactly, numerous studies have shown that the majority od money spent in schools are wasted on bullshit projects that should go to teacher pay and free lunches.

@NativeOregonian ...under the federal school lunch program!
NativeOregonian · 51-55
@DeWayfarer There should not have to be a federal school lunch program, lunches should automatically be provided by the same property taxes that funds your local school.

@NativeOregonian Ah.... not arguing this point. Just giving a bit of info about Wyoming. There is no property taxes in Wyoming. It's one of the few states that doesn't.
NativeOregonian · 51-55
@DeWayfarer You are still paying some sort of tax that funds your local schools.

@NativeOregonian Federal funding pays for everything. Heck the population of all of Wyoming can fit in a moderate sized town of 600000.

@GeorgiaHoodlum No I don't agree. How can you possibly compare when one has it and the other doesn't.

And you obviously know it because of the question in your reply.

Which the answer is. If they have a formal schooling, and in some outlining places like Tibet (apart of China) they don't. They bring their own food. Just like when I was a kid.
