what do you think of volunteering? is it worth it?

what do you think of volunteering? is it worth it if you are trying to make friends from volunteering? I enjoyed volunteering at the library when i lived somewhere else and now i cant find a place thats worth the money to volunteer they all require background checks which i have to pay for. or i have to pay for parking because its in the city. I volunteered at ah hospital and hated it, everyone would yell at me i would get very lost and i just felt completely sick to my stomach.

Sorry for your bad experience. My volunteers at our hospital were cherished and are an imperative as a healing modality. They deserve a lot of gratitude for the work they do.

Our volunteer department were a satisfied and happy group.

@Grateful4you yes thanks, I volunteered at a huge hospital there is close to 14 thousand paid employees it is a children's hospital and everyone is misrible there, underpaid and underappreciated. I am looking for the kind of job to interact with people and make friends not just change bed pans and i am having a hard time with that.
