what do you think of volunteering? is it worth it?

what do you think of volunteering? is it worth it if you are trying to make friends from volunteering? I enjoyed volunteering at the library when i lived somewhere else and now i cant find a place thats worth the money to volunteer they all require background checks which i have to pay for. or i have to pay for parking because its in the city. I volunteered at ah hospital and hated it, everyone would yell at me i would get very lost and i just felt completely sick to my stomach.

@LittleTinks You will get a huge sense of satisfaction, in truth, volunteering is as therapeutic for you as it is for the patient.

My hubby volunteers at his local marine shop and loves it so it’s something I’m thinking about but with healing others! @Grateful4you

Another aspect is that you meet and make new friends with both staff and the clients/patients. Unlike a lot of hospitals our cafeteria has great food and our volunteers get free meals.
