Last night i said something really stupid

In front of my BFF who is overeight, her whole family is overweight and they are very sensitive about it as they have tried many times to lose weight i said:

“He (someone I know) should be all over that like a fat kid on a smartie” UGH. As soon as i said it i felt like an ass. IDK why i said it. It just slipped out. I’m usually very sensitive to those situations. Should i say/do anything? Apologize?

Did you consume alcohol or any substance which made you high before talking to her?

@DoubleRings ok. Did she express how she felt when you told her all this? I mean was crying or ran away. If you feel sorry just call her up for a treat in a fancy place. Hopefully if she is cool she would have a nice time with you. ☺️

she didn’t say anything but it’s still a shitty thing to say. I remember one time a gf of mine used this expression while speaking in a professional setting to some parents of a child we were working with (not even overweight) and i just thought OMG that’s horrible. @SW-User

@DoubleRings I know. Sometimes people can over react and some people are too shy or introvert. If you genuinely feel sorry and you think she is a nice person. You should take her to a nice restaurant or place. If she still forgives you then you will understand that what kind of person she is. 😊
