Have you ever found out that someone you were involved with years ago (and haven't talked to since) has passed away?

I knew he'd been sick for a long time, and his son had posted on Facebook asking for prayers. Once he passed, I thought about attending the service, but decided against it as we hadn't communicated in about 15 years, and I wasn't taking time off work, so I decided to remember him as he was.
