Well, it’s pissing me off greatly that my parents made a huge deal about me dating this trans guy named Jordan many months ago. They wouldn’t let us sleep in the same bed and kept the door open so they could listen. I was 18 at the time and he was 17.

Now my 15 year old (cis) brother is in a relationship with a very newly 15 year old girl, and my parents are totally letting them go wherever they want with complete privacy. She even gives my brother condoms (so she’s not stupid but still). Why is it that he, who isn’t the “perfect kid” like I am, gets to be free to do whatever when I wasn’t even though I was 18?!

It’s also just pissing me off that he’s having so much sex and I’m not (because I’m single). Also, they do PDA all the damn time and it’s revolting. I also think the girlfriend treats my brother poorly and that she doesn’t deserve him.

@ShaythePanTransMan Every right to be pissed off. Probably a combination of "going harder on the older sibling" and y'know, being shitty about you being trans without realizing it.

I understand that. I’m the older child and can’t do anything with a guy but my 14 year old brother can go places with girls and stuff. But also I don’t think you should be hating that much. Be happy for your brother that he’s in a relationship with a person he seems to really like. I get mad and irritated but I also know there’s not much I can do about it other than move out or break the rules @ShaythePanTransMan

@ShaythePanTransMan could it be that your friend was underage as you are 18 and your parents were nervous about legal ramifications.I would have been as a parent myself.If it's about you being trans it's uncool.

@CountScrofula Yes, I don’t even know what they’re thinking. Maybe, I’m not sure why that would play a part though. My last relationship which was recent had a helicopter mom too (her mom was helicopter and my mom just despised my girlfriend and wouldn’t let her in the house) and we were only able to have sex twice. It wasn’t even comfortable sex; it was kinda rushed.

@ShaythePanTransMan Awkward, hopefully ou can have some privacy and space in the future. I don't think they could even articulate the double standard. People do shit without understanding why.

@Butterflykisses24 No. the age of consent here is 16. My brother and her girlfriend are the underage ones.

I break the rules. I always have bc I don’t really care. Maybe you should try. I have a helicopter mom, she goes through my phone and tracks me sometimes but I still manage to get around her rules@ShaythePanTransMan

@CountScrofula I really hope so. If not I’ll be sure to get my therapist in their face XD (Not to say I use my therapist to be able to complain to my parents but she helps everything go well). Yeah.... Eh. I miss Jordan, to be honest. He was a good guy, a very good guy. If I had the option to take him back, I would really consider it.

@kyky16 You do? The issue is...I’m 18, I’m not gonna sneak around my parents anymore like a teenager. I’m not gonna break their rules, just negotiate with them. I just need to be more assertive.

I’m 18 too. I have a strict mother. Negotiations don’t work being assertive doesn’t work. So yes while I still live under her roof I break the rules @ShaythePanTransMan
