When someone severly hurts your feelings, do you clam up, cry, or do you get just outright mad and vocal?

Long ago I would've fallen into a deep depression immediately. After I drank myself into a stupor for a lengthy period of time I would've begun to believe I was exactly what this person said I was. Then I'd lapse into another depression, etc etc. I don't do this anymore. Now I would nod, turn on my heel and calmly walk away.
