Why do so many people judge?

Not all disabilities are visible!
Saw a girls car get covered in posted notes with terrible things on them for parking in handicap with her sticker on her car. I myself have had people flip and tell me my service dog isn’t real cause they can’t see the problem. (He’s completely trained and has a vest)

Assumptive ignorance. Close mindedness. Failure to look beyond their own experiences. Lack of empathy. One day they may find themselves in your shoes or worse and the light switch will finally come on. Unfortunately sometimes that’s what it takes.

@ChiRho so true. My father tries to tell me I don’t need my dog and I need to get over my PTSD and anxiety. He tells me I should just make myself happy and get over it

Oh and tells me that I’m fat (wear a med.) and that’s why I have hip dysplasia (totally explains the misshaped bone )

@Soramarie You work on making yourself feel better and let him say and think what he will. You deserve support and care, not to be discouraged and put down. If it’s within your power, surround yourself people who will do just that.

For the most part I do. My dad is a great man but doesn’t understand medical at all. He constantly says I bug you cause I love you. But it still cuts

@Soramarie A lack of understanding then? Teach him 🙂 You know yourself better than anyone. Have a talk about what affects you and in which ways. He loves you, just doesn’t know how to approach handling things

Yes we have talked he pretty much blows it off he just doesn’t get it

Sorry to hear that 😕 Regardless of what orhers do or say, do what you think is best for yourself. Whatever that may be. We can’t control people and their actions, we can only react. I’ll be praying for you sora @Soramarie
