There is indeed a big overlap in the questions and I suspect some people here use Quora as a source for their questions.
There's often a big difference in the way people answer questions on the other site versus SW. On Quora, people typically give serious answers to serious questions, from what I've seen. On this site, it seems like every other person is trying to be a stand-up comedian on most of the questions, regardless of their seriousness.

I find the answers to some questions there more elaborate and informative compared to the ones here.
Everyone on there is an expert on everything somehow & has the energy to write 12 paragraphs.

But I would say the purpose of Quora is different than SW. Quora isn't really about connecting with people.
