What are the most useless types of arguments and discussions that do not really help or contribute to anything?

Those where someone is in fact just arguing, and not debating.
Debate is fine as you are expressing your point in a way to try and convince the other person to change their point of view (and you never ever insult, swear, or personally attack the other person)
