People will believe any lie you tell them as long as there's no immediate contradicting evidence.

No option of both is a good one.

The second one just do not happens.
Some people believes in almost all despite of evidences on the contrary
Someones almost nothing and no one. They used to be of the first variety in the past.
Most are in between.

The first option haves a built in intrinsic missconception.
That truth is conviction and bona fide no matter if what is believed is or not true.
That´is the kind of "lie" that people tell themselves and to others, sometimes.
There is another kind of truth but requires the ual rare courage of intellectual and emotional honesty.
This attitude puts seaching for what is factual truth out there above the volatile convictions of our minds.

This is the most ridiculous poll ever

I'll go with the second one, that's why people believe random Facebook news over actual journalism. If there's nothing to contradict it, the person can just suspend reality to believe their worldview.

Both seem to be accurate and not mutually exclusive, so I'll with that as describing reality.
