When you were a kid, what would be the first thing you did after you got home from school?

After school. I would go to work. I grew up on a farm and my Dad was a cattle rancher. There was a lot of work for us to do after school. After supper, I would have some house chores and than a couple hours of homework before bed. In the morning it was up at 4 am to break the ice from the horse trough. Didn’t have much time for laziness. ✌️

I really miss our horses, though. My horse passed away when I was in college and my Dad sold the rest of them after he retired from cattle ranching.

@SW-User I had to be. Ranches take a lot of work. It got hard in HighSchool because I was doing some college level classes, playing guitar in a jam band with friends, and my Mom got me setup with an agent to do some commercial (catalog) modeling. I really didn’t have much of a social life. I didn’t date or have a SO in HighSchool but there was honestly no time.

@SW-User I’ve always worked really hard. My Dad immigrated to the US as a teenager from Iceland with my grandparents and worked to own his own ranch and land. He taught us all how to work very hard.

@DarkHeaven That's some good parenting right there 😄 Your father sounds like an amazing person! I think it's great for parents to first teach their children to work hard because they've always had everything taken care of for them, so it's very easy for them to become lazy.
