is it weird for someone to have two computers?

When I went back to school I wanted to get two computers. My major was graphic design which consisted of major computer space and excellent graphics. I wanted to use one for work/school related stuff and one for personal. (One Mac and one PC.)Someone was helping me buy the computer and said she couldn't justify buying 2 computers which I understood. Well they helped me with the one computer for school/work (which was a Mac), but failed to put Apple Care on it. A few years later juice was spilled in my computer. It was out of regular warranty and it wasn't covered under Apple Care because I didn't have it. The computer was completely destroyed and now I have to get a new one. So now because of work and research I need another now. Macs cost a pretty penny so I would either have to wait and save up or put it on my credit card _ but my c.f. is full). I need a computer ASAP so I considered getting a PC now because it's cheaper and at least I could do my Reserch and then when I have the funds I could get a Mac. My sister said I was crazy, it didn't make sense and it was a waste if money. Does having two computers make sense or is it too much? Had I had both before, my mac wouldn't have been destroyed. What are your thoughts?

I'd have to have a good think about how many computers I have, because I genuinely don't know. To me, people should have as many computers as they need/want.

One thing occurs to me, though. You could run Apple's OS inside a virtual machine on your PC, therefore your PC would be both a Windows PC and a Mac. With a large enough monitor (or two monitors) you could run both at the same time and get the best of both worlds. No need to buy more hardware, just a license for the OS.

@uniglow I have absolutely no idea how to do that! Lol

@sweetiepoo Haha! Most people don't. I even run Android on my PC so it's like having a huge tablet. There are some instructions here:

It's not entirely straightforward, though, and if you know someone techie with experience of virtualisation, it'll save you some headaches.

@uniglow Thanks. I'll check it out.
