Did you know what career you wanted when you were in fifth-grade?

At last night’s 5th-grade graduation the teachers presented a slideshow of the 5th-graders holding signs with a chalkboard written with what career they wanted to have when they were grown. There were signs that said various types of engineers, doctors, scientists,architects, a couple of astronauts, some athletes, dental hygienists, Starbucks baristas, and funny that about 25% said You-Tubers. Not one person said lawyer, preacher, or teacher.

That's so telling of our times! "Social Media Influencers"....whatever that is! I think mine went from Astronaut to Sports Star to Rock Star...
Unfortunately none of those worked out...

I'm in finance (more or less) and I have to say most of us over 40 didn't even know what we do existed back then! I guess they all can't be Alex P. Keaton's (from Family Ties)...

@luctoretemergo I’m from Oklahoma and this is how he has kept his wealth instead of being cheated out of it by accountants. And knowing how to use it well to his advantage.

I know of him (hard not to) but he's one guy in his supposed down years when he wasn't that popular - you never heard of him crying poor like some guys do so good on him! He seems very genuine! It's obviously an Oklahoma thing!

@luctoretemergo Toby Keith lives a few miles from here. Supposedly richer than Garth Brooks....he started out as an oil well worker.
