No, I never noticed such thing. They are like that when somebody from a smaller city or town visits their city. Some people have this "what do you want here you peasant" attitude.

I noticed that when people visit smaller towns they tend to dress much more casually. Perhaps because they think there's nobody they would need to impress there. But I never heard them saying anything bad about the place or people. They were just surprised by certain things.
