How do people get addicted to alcoholic drinks?

Like they don't even taste sweet.
Idk I am unable to go beyond a few sips because they mostly taste bitter or fiery.

@Fernie I am not judging anyone. I wanted to know what it feels like being drunk and getting high and went to a couple of booze parties with my friends but never managed beyond a few sips. May be you should read my question with an open mind. 😊
