When will mass shootings not be a regular occurrence in America?

I often feel ashamed of being an American. I'm ashamed I live in the same country with people that won't blink an eye when so many people are gunned down, but will freak out when you try to control the problem.

Why are we like this? When will this stop?

America needs to mature and just get rid of the guns. You don't need them. Australia handed in our guns over 20 years ago. Not a single mass shooting since. Plus I don't have to worry about being shot when I go out because - no one has a gun. It's very simple. Just stop being so patriotic to an outdated constitution and get rid of the guns.
