When will mass shootings not be a regular occurrence in America?

I often feel ashamed of being an American. I'm ashamed I live in the same country with people that won't blink an eye when so many people are gunned down, but will freak out when you try to control the problem.

Why are we like this? When will this stop?

My father said something about it and I think he was on to something. It was not until he did a stint in Colorado that he met people who though resolving problems with bullets was acceptable. We have plenty of gun owners in Canada but you would be hard pressed to find one with that same mindset. In fact most gun owners I know would suggest that makes you emotionally too immature to be trusted with a weapon of any kind.
