Why do some people on SW talk about the US as if it's the only country in the world?

SW isn't even a US site.

As an American I can safely say that most Americans don’t even realise there is civilisation beyond our borders. I know people who think it’s winter, with snow and igloos, year round in Canada....

@Gangstress It’s true! Haha! The saddest part is I live in Minnesota, so it’s not like Canada is that far away! Six hour drive I think.
