The Oklahoma City bombing of the Federal Building by a right-wing extremist.

@snowbelt has it really been 24 years...wow..
snowbelt · 61-69, M
@akindheart Hard to believe, isn't it? I remember watching the coverage as it unfolded.

@snowbelt They have a ceremony every anniversary on the memorial site in Oklahoma City.
snowbelt · 61-69, M
@cherokeepatti I imagine they do. What a terrible tragedy.

@snowbelt So many people affected by it, not only the ones that died but their families & other loved one, and so many injured in a variety of ways...one boy had a brick embedded in his skull and he lived but was handicapped. Some lost their legs after a wall collapsed in another building destroyed by the blast. First responders and volunteers etc. Thousands it seems. I heard stories at work...one lady who worked in the snack bar got called by her aunt who was watching on tv and said she saw her sister sitting on a curb and bleeding. The man who delivered milk to the snack bar never showed up, his first delivery of the day was at the Murrah building. My daughter was in Mid-high and she said after they announced it at school students were running down the hallway screaming in hysterics because a parent worked at a building next to the Murrah building or worked at the Murrah.. It just went on and on. I felt like I was in shock the whole day.

@cherokeepatti It is hard to fathom such evil that changes lives in an instant. I can understand your shock. I felt the same way on 9/11, watching people jumping from the upper tower floors where Windows of the World Restaurant was located-a place I had eaten several times in the past.

@snowbelt I lived and worked about 20 miles from the location of the Murrah bombing and I had a weird thought and feeling when it happened. I was working alone and came down at break time and felt like crying. Then a few minutes later we got a call to turn the tv on and watch. They show everything live as it happened and people being carried out, etc. Before 9/11 I had a strong dark feeling something was going to happened for about a week and it got stronger each day. Told my sister and she basically laughed me off....

@cherokeepatti I absolutely believe you. I have had premonitions before--the Challenger Space Shuttle disaster was one. You have to listen to those premonitions. If I ever have one before travelling, you couldn't pay me enough money to complete my trip.

@snowbelt I’ve had fun dreams though about places i never even thought about visiting and then later got invited...people who I never thought would come to the house and there they were. Other things...it’s strange. One time I dreamed about finding some “treasure” if I dug in an exact spot in our yard (rural area)...I thought about it for a couple weeks and then got the shovel and dug and not too far down started finding things...found an old patent-medicine bottle among other stuff....they used to bury trash before trash service got implemented out that way.

@cherokeepatti Psychic phenomenon do happen.
