Yes I would put the child down.
SW-User
Well that’s terrifying @Quinn

luctoretemergo · 61-69, M
First - as a dog owner you have to do everything in your power to make sure stuff like this doesn't happen (ie USE A LEASH!!). If it does happen, I would offer compensation....but more than likely you'll end up in court (watch Judge Judy!). So, the answer is DO EVERYTHING IN YOUR POWER TO NOT LET YOUR DOG BE THE VICTEM AND USE A LEASH! (sorry, I'm passionate about this kind of stuff).
luctoretemergo · 61-69, M
I can see your fired up about it (sorry)...Like I say, it always ends up being the dogs fault...or when a person stands too close to the tigers at the zoo, they kill the tiger!

Yes in this case, the kid was on the mainroad just walking by. I don’t understand why the dog wasnt fenced in if it has the potential to hurt someone who was just minding their own business on public grounds @luctoretemergo

[c=#BF0080]I’m not an animal person at all, but I do appreciate them from a little bit of a distance.. When my daughter was a toddler I took one of my brother's dog’s puppies before they’re usually given away. He was his twin. Besides the fact that I was in school a distance, he one day playing bit my daughter’s ankle and locked on it- it took 3 men to get him off her. He wasn’t being violent, he was just too young to understand what was happening. He slightly broke through her skin but she was fine. That was the day I knew I had to give him up. I wasn’t chancing him getting bigger and God forbid it being worse next time even if not intentional. His father was the best dog ever(both full Pit). I felt horrible, but my children’s safety was priority. [/c]

@SW-User [c=#BF0080]That's the thing, he’s grown and my brother got him about a month or so ago. But he’s only growled like he was gonna do something around women. I’m yet to meet him. [/c]
SW-User
He is a misogynistic doggo 😂@MellyMel22

@SW-User 😂😂😂
I would never own a dog. Is that typical?? Killing violent animals?
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@DarlingSelah Yeah. Dogs are like people. You treat them super badly you're gonna make some turn into violent jerks.
SW-User
Yeah. They value human safety above all else @DarlingSelah

i’m more of a cat person, but i think i would let the authorities decide what should be done with the dog. if it were my dog, and it was a vicious attack, and there was no court ruling to destroy the dog, i would surrender the dog to the authorities. i couldn’t handle that kind of worry that it would happen again.
SW-User
Yes. It’s a very uptight neighborhood. You make any consistent loud noises past 11pm, expect the cops to be at your door pronto 😂 @SW-User
SW-User
@SW-User seems harsh, but i do like my peace and quiet.
SW-User
Yeah. Which is why people often take their dogs to the kennel if they’re on heat or simply neutered.
TheBatQueen · 26-30, F
you should, if dogs tasted human blood even by accident it will be risky to keep it
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
It'd depend on a few circumstances.
MidknightMischief · 41-45, M
Are you dealing with a situation like you described?
SW-User
I did from my balcony. Kid was lucky a group of people were close by @MidknightMischief
MidknightMischief · 41-45, M
@SW-User Holy crap! Yeah, that was lucky. What kind of dog?

Eddiesolds · 61-69, M
I know I'd never have that problem, but if I did, gosh I think I'd have to.I hope the kid is ok.
SW-User
Kid got lucky people were nearby to help out. @Eddiesolds
Eddiesolds · 61-69, M
@SW-User perfect!.
I'm a responsible pet owner. I keep my dog away from peopLe until I think they are ready
SW-User
Some people are just careless assholes. I wouldn’t risk a human life, let alone a child’s. Tamed or not, they’re staying on a leash when out or locked in my own compound. @jetpack
smileylovesgaming · 31-35, F
Depends what kind of dog
Charlieday · 31-35, M
smileylovesgaming · 31-35, F
@Charlieday i only meant that a lot of small dog breads will nip at the leg. We had a Chihuahua that did that. Never understood why. He only did it with kid's. If any of my kid's friend's came over I kept him close by me. I had a poodle and another Chihuahua that would bark at kid's.

Now we had a boxer mix that loved kid's. Had a Labrador that was very protective. We just kept her in the yard.
Charlieday · 31-35, M
@smileylovesgaming no problem i was just curious what you ment
Barebum61 · 61-69, M
