If their psychological state makes them a liability then it makes more sense to take them out of the army than to have them risk the lives of even more able bodied soldiers.

I was referring to physical state only. I get what you mean 100 percent, but that’s not what I’m talking about. @kayoshin

But if you were talking about physical flaws then they are not able bodied from the viewpoint of a volunteer professional based army. A wartime draft army can afford to be more lax with it's physical requirements but a professional army has the choice of prime gunmeat.
