History will repeat

Watching part of Schindler's List got me thinking:

The Nazi's slaughtered the Jewish
The Japanese killed countless Chinese, among many many others
America nuked more people than we could probably imagine
The British Empire waged war with and slaughtered almost the entire Maori race for an island they initially could barely use, NZ (my home)
Stalin attacked his own people
thats not even getting into the horrific slave trade

Now, none of this was our fault, and its wrong to blame any of this on anyone today because its more than likely all of our races have committed atrocities, but i think people are right to try and keep dark parts of history like this remembered, but in the end it probably wont work.

In the end, someday in the future, there will be a new horrific slaughter, for some moronic reason, and people will say "how could this happen?" all because they either forgot whst happened in the past, or because it didnt happen to them, so why should they care?

It's is our nature. We are animals. People like to deceive themselves and think that they could never do anything like that.
