Freedom of thought, never mind freedom of speech

@Quizzical It's all about the control, control, control. You are right.
Quizzical · 46-50, M
@Dainbramadge The far right and the far left are just as bad as each other for this it has to be said...

We should never trust extremists, they are blind to our desires.
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@Quizzical What if they have to be extreme to counter other extremes?
Quizzical · 46-50, M
@Dainbramadge Well, two wrongs don't make a right.

Things always work better when people are able to communicate which extremists cannot do. They only hear their own thoughts echoed by those around them.
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@Quizzical I see the right as being called extreme by the left. I don;t see the right being extreme.
Quizzical · 46-50, M
@Dainbramadge Neither the moderate left or moderate right are extreme in themselves. But each faction does have extremists which I refer to as far right and far left.

Personally I am a centrist... I think both sides have good and bad policies, party members etc, and a combination of those policies would be for the greater good of everyone.

Unfortunately in today's political climate we are seeing much more of an 'if you aren't with us then you're against us'.

America in particular is very emotionally divided by all of this. Things which were once merely a difference of opinion are now extremely volatile points.

We're actually experiencing a similar thing in the UK with Brexit though as is to be expected it's a lot more polite and reserved, lol.

@Quizzical Ha ha ha.. Yeah, there is no bi-partisanship going on here. But the right is dealing with an obstructionist left who's only purpose is to make sure the president doesn't get anything he wants no matter what he gives them. I know people say he is stuck on his own agenda but it isn't so. He just gets no credit from the left leaning media. I know it sounds cliche, but it is true.

@Dainbramadge Well, I freely admit I don't know enough about the politics of the situation, but I have to say whether he is good for America or not I consider Trump a vile human being and the wall he wishes to build merely a monument to his own ego.

If Mexicans truly want to get into the US then they will find a way to do so.

Walls don't really stop anything. It's the people patrolling them that do. Berlin learnt that...
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@Quizzical But the people patrolling the area agree that they need a wall. Right now they can just walk in if there isn't a truck in that 250 miles of area. That's a lot of area for guys to cover. A wall plus patrols would work better than no wall I think. We are being flooded with people coming in from the south. They can sneak in and get government help off the US tax payers dollars. Just my view.
Quizzical · 46-50, M
@Dainbramadge That's something I can't quite wrap my head around.

I could understand if they were working cash in hand and staying off the books, but how the heck are they getting government assistance if they cannot prove their citizenship? 🤔
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@Quizzical See. I have no idea how it works either. But we have politicians that are lobbying for them to get tax refunds too. For taxes they don't pay. Baffling.
