The guy blew a stop sign. How many of us have done the same thing?
Synyster · 51-55, M
@hippyjoe1955 I agree, but on the other hand something must be done.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Synyster I am not sure why. The problem is the Boncos were young athletes as opposed to grampa heading to town to get some bread.

@hippyjoe1955 It still a tragedy and someone is in the wrong. They're has to be consequences for running a stop sign.

@Synyster Never said otherwise. However the results of the tragedy must not taint our judgement about the cause of the accident. If you were driving down a road and blew a stop sign and no one was killed or injured would you be satisfied with a 10 year prison sentence?

@hippyjoe1955 Why would you get a ten year sentence if nobody was killed or injured? You’d get a ticket.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@QuixoticSoul The point is you did exactly the same thing as the guy whose blown stop sign killed a bunch of hockey players.
Synyster · 51-55, M
@hippyjoe1955 I get your point, but he did break the law, and it has resulted in many deaths. Tough to decide on the length of his sentence.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Synyster No one said he didn't break the law. The only question is what is warranted as punishment.
Synyster · 51-55, M
@hippyjoe1955 I agree on that.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@hippyjoe1955 But it didn't. That's how a moving violation turns into involuntary manslaughter. That's the whole point of those kinds of charges, where you kill people due to negligence, but not on purpose.
