Yes. When my husband was ill I stopped at a roadside flowerstand to take him home some daffodil sunshine - and a much-pierced Goth-dressed girl was tending the stand.
She proceeded to shred my stereotyoe by being the sweetest, gentlest, most positive person who cooed to the flowers and offered me comfort and encouragement.
Boy, was I wrong!

When I was in school, there was a girl who barely spoke to the rest of us, and when she did she spoke in a very nasal tome. I thought she was kind of snooty and considered us “beneath” her.
She was out of school one week having plastic surgery on her nose.
When she returned, her voice wasn’t as nasal and she became much more talkative. She told me that she had been very self-conscious about the way she spoke, and that she had avoided talking to people because of that. She turned out to be very nice, and I felt bad about the fact that I had misjudged her initially.

I am sure I have done it when I was younger but can't think of any time that I have.

I know it had happened, but don't remember exactly how it went anymore. 😅
