Police: Baltimore woman struck up a conversation with 11-year-old boy on the playground, then she opened fire

ltimore woman walked onto a Cherry Hill playground late Thursday afternoon, struck up a conversation with a boy she didn’t know, then opened fire on the boy and his mother, police say.

Nichole George, 31, of the 900 block of Seagull Ave., is charged with several counts of attempted first-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault and handgun violations, according to police.

“George started talking with the 11-year-old boy and a short time later she allegedly pulled out a gun and shot both victims,” Baltimore Police Commissioner Michael Harrison said. “Detectives are still working on the ‘why.’”

The gunshots rang out while dozens of other children played nearby.

“Right now, the motive is still unknown,” Harrison said Friday morning.[...]

early on kids learn that violence is the answer
we have the biggest guns we'll shoot them down
look online for instance
the encouragement to kill
so why are people so surprized?

but it's all good

this earth needs less people

it's a kind of limiting numbers/culling

like we do with animals

@ManIsEatingEarthUpLikeCandy I'm surprised by the fact that people still blame tools for what people do with them.
kayoshin · 36-40, M
@Theseus it's still pretty hard to shoot up a playground with a knife. Also how many would have died if the guy in New Zealand had only a knife or a sword to attack with? Don't kid yourself, tools make a difference.

@kayoshin Let's extend that logic, shall we? What about terrorists who use trucks, cars, bombs of various types...and, yes, even knives and boxcutters?

Should we ban all of those, too, or should we try to figure out what turns people into murderers and fix/ban that? I, for one, would like to see fedbook, instagram, etc. shut down immediately. They serve as inticements for people to perpetrate progressively wicked shit.

Trust me on this. If I thought any kind of gun control could take the murder out of people's hearts, I'd jump on the bandwagon in a heartbeat.
@kayoshin you don't get it
and probably never will
kayoshin · 36-40, M
Yes I agree that I never will get how people can liken the inventive use of random objects to the danger of items perfected over centuries for the one and single purpose of killing. Sure we don't ban cars but you NEED cars, however outside of killing what do you use a gun for? And the bullshit that it's for defense doesn't add up, where is your defensive gun when a kid shoots up a school or when a nut shoots hundreds of people in Vegas? I agree that I will never understand that point of view, you got me.
Theseus · 46-50, M
@ManIsEatingEarthUpLikeCandy Ahem. RATHER than making this about me, perhaps you can answer a simple question: What can we do to weed out, treat and, if necessary, confine the nutters before they do wicked shit like this?
Theseus · 46-50, M
@kayoshin Let's try to stick to the topic at hand, please...or hell, one topic at a time even. In any case, people use guns for a lot of reasons. Cops/civilians use them to defend people and property from nutters, crims and tyrants. Hunters use them to feed themselves and their families.
kayoshin · 36-40, M
Wedding out "the nutters" is basically impossible without pissing on everyone's human rights. Even you can be a nutter in the right circumstances so not having a special tool for murder is on topic. Police officers have psychological screenings and more even if they ever even have to draw their firearm, civilians on the other hand don't and can snap too. Wedding out terrorists is another thing and that's what we have intelligence services for.
Theseus · 46-50, M
@kayoshin And taking people's right to keep and bear the means of self defense isn't pissing all over their human rights?
