Not necessarily. It can give an idea what the plot is about but listening to others and their experiences with a movie is always better, I find.

Yes, but at times we need to be open to surprises too. I did it with movie suggestions for Valentine's and got some suggestions. I watched trailers of the movies while having the words told to me about it in the back of my head while doing so.
