Once upon a time , Muslims are the most liberal and technologically advanced people in the world.

300 is a wrong movie, historically. Spartans are savages. Persians actually fought wars to liberate them .

Persians never even employed slaves, unlike the Spartans at that time.

Persians had no slaves? they were the ones who started with it. not saying spartans weren't pretty much savages but persians were not great.

@popmol omg people need to crack a history book, the Achaemenid Empire was one of the only powers at the time in which slavery was banned. You know, Cyrus freeing the Jews and all that. By contrast, the Spartans were as close to Nazis as it got in the classical world.

Very true.... I am taking courses of Iran history, pre, and post Islam...

Before Achaemenids there were Babilians and Assyrians and even before that the Sumerians, ... Elami civilization, they all used slaves... as I mentioned here, this goes back to 4000 BC, which if 6000 years ago, and the divisions of their society included slaves as the lowest level...

They were ordinary people like us, and came after Royalty, Monks, and Army people...

It was not a bad thing to be slave and they were considered as hard working people...
