I absolutely abhor windy weather! I live in Colorado, and it seems windy a lot here..ughhh

@SW-User I live in Oklahoma and it’s common for us to get the winds that begin from the wind blowing down the mountains in Colorado.

@cherokeepatti lol Sorry, Patti! I remember when I lived in Oklahoma. It was very warm, but I was a teeny tiny whippersnapper lol. My Dad was stationed in Fort Sill!🙂

@SW-User I can walk from my car in the parking lot to the store and my hair will be in my face...even with hair spray...I hate it.

@cherokeepatti oh lordy! That's some really horrible winds! I hope you can stay home tomorrow, hun!👀

@SW-User I went to the store today and got home this afternoon, glad I did now.

SW-User
@cherokeepatti for real! I'm glad you're safe at home too! Do your parakeets go crazy when they hear the wind?
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@SW-User No they are usually OK with the wind. They love the rain though.

SW-User
@cherokeepatti that's awesome! I'm glad the wind doesn't scare them!

@SW-User I had one parakeet that was scared of storms after a tornado came over the house (sounded like a train). He’d get nervous when the winds blew and it hailed or rained hard. He’d even get scared when the meteorologist mentioned the word “Storm” a couple of times (even a winter snow storm)...he’d start saying “weep, weep” and pacing in his cage...didn’t scare the other birds though. I’d tell him it would be OK but he would keep fussing. When we had a winter storm he was fussing and I picked his cage up and took him out to the sun room and told him this was a winter snow storm and it was OK, he calmed down when he saw the snow.

@SW-User Yeah, I put the bird cages in the hallway, closed all the doors and I curled down in the bottom of the linen closet in the hallway till the tornado passed over the house. When it was over I took the birds and put them back in the living room. And when someone came here I told them story of what I did and how the tornado sounded. That bird listened to me tell the story and when I was finished he started saying “Weep, weep”...he was telling us how scared he was too. He knew what I was talking about for sure.

@cherokeepatti animals are smarter than humans realize.

@SW-User That’s why I talk to my birds so much, I explain things sometimes...they’ll ask what I’m eating and I show them and tell them the foods. Sometimes they ask other questions.
