What do you do in Turkey? What is the true political climate in Turkey currently
ordinaryguy · 41-45, M
@Fungirlmmm AS you may already know we are in the middle of east and west. (we can say developed and nondeveloped countries) and we used to face towards developed countries untill recently. Unfortunately now we are turning our faces to nondevelopment countries both deterioring in the means of democracy and economy :(
ordinaryguy · 41-45, M
@Fungirlmmm I work as a software developer btw. But unfortunately technology is not much appreciated thing in here :(

DragonFruit · 61-69, M
Nothing to ask....but I was in Turkey once (Kusadasi/Ephesus). It was a good experience for us.
ordinaryguy · 41-45, M
@DragonFruit I am glad you like. Unfortunately we can't take advantage of such natural beauties. Especially recent governments had a very bad impact on it. but im sure it will get better :)
I recomment you to visit Cappadocia next time if u have a chance

SweetMae · 70-79, F
@DragonFruit I went to Ephesus too! I really enjoyed seeing that.
ordinaryguy · 41-45, M
@SweetMae Turkey has many historical and natural beauties . but unfortunately not many visionaire people in the goverments to use them. Anatolia's history is very important for all humanity.

Best spot for a tourist Who wants to have a cultural experience of small village life?
ordinaryguy · 41-45, M
@FoolishLuna Turkey has a very diverse agriculture range. You cant cover most of it in one village. I would recomment first visiting an Aegean coast village or farm(Şirince, Belentepe for example) and then you can visit some other part of turkey. Maybe in august you can have grape harvesting and wine making festivals in cappadocia. Feel free to contact me if you need further information ;)

I was serious .. so I just might ...@ordinaryguy
How's the denial of Armenian genocide coming?
ordinaryguy · 41-45, M
@jetpack It is a very long and contraversial issue indeed. Lets not talk like how goverments do. In reality many ppl know that there was a war and many ppl killed. The ottoman empire was about to break down and didnt even had any armed forced to make a genocide. I am not coming to a conclusion. Because its not something lik that. I can give you many scientific articles about this if you are really interested.
I apologize for my accusation. You were not born yet and to be honest neither was I. I'm am not my government and I don't think you are yours.
I just finished my shakshuka and fresh baked pita. I enjoy Mediterranean and middle eastern cuisine. I have never been to your part of the world and only know what has been portrayed on the news.
Good day

@jetpack TY. actually I think such talks are mainly generated by governments and unfortunately some ppl (no offense) follow these.
in most cases the real people of nations dont have any problem with each other. I have many friends who live in Aegean coast of Turkey. Many people can think Greeks and Turks are enemies. but many of my friends have so many greek friends :)

Do you have a good, easy recipe for lokum?
ordinaryguy · 41-45, M
@Underconstruction I never done it at home . Our grandparents used to do it tho. The traditional one is pretty simple i think. I can find and send you but i dont wanna send you something before trying :) what flavor do u like
@ordinaryguy Oh, that would be great. My daughter and I used to go to a Turkish restaurant in our town and they always served lokum after the meal. We loved it. Unfortunately they closed and I haven't found lokum anywhere. I like to cook and I have made a few Turkish dishes at home.
curiosi · 61-69, F
Our government here in the US is becoming quite oppressive. Do other countries see it. Do you feel that your country is oppressive??
ordinaryguy · 41-45, M
@curiosi Yes definitely. Actually Turkey has a big population of young people. It is a great potential to use in hi-tech and scientific studies . But it cant be done unless it is a widely accepted policy . our goverment now is far behind of that vision :(
curiosi · 61-69, F
@ordinaryguy I get that, my country seems determined to control us rather than allow individuality which would encourage creativity and thus benefit all.
ordinaryguy · 41-45, M
@curiosi European union is much more ahead then USA in terms of such vision, democracy and human rights. but usa is trying to cut that out in many ways too :(

Do you feel that your media is screening anything you see from other parts of the world?
ReneeT · 61-69, M
@ordinaryguy I am guessing at least you can get access to some internet news, or is that censored also? Even here the government is harassing the media simply because they are telling us everything that is happening within the White House
ordinaryguy · 41-45, M
@ReneeT Yes i use the internet pretty much but not the rest of society. TV's and newspapers and even e-newspapers direct the society very well. think about this, you open TV and it says everything goin great in our country, you change the channel, other program says same, you hear the same things no matter how much you change. and after some point you start believing
ReneeT · 61-69, M
@ordinaryguy That is the way it is here also, with a few stations feeding the same distorted news daily. So many people just start to believe it when they hear the same over and over
BigbangFACTS · M
How do you cook your turkey?
ordinaryguy · 41-45, M
@Underconstruction TY. i just think it is a great place to share opinion without any prejudice .
@ordinaryguy Sorry to burst your bubble but sadly this is not that kind of place. It's full of ignorant morons who mock everything they don't understand ....which is a lot.
ordinaryguy · 41-45, M
@BigbangFACTS Ok lets say . we cook turkey just like we cook our chickens :)
Dazzle · 26-30, F
Are Turks sorry for 700 years of oppressing Greece?
DonaldTrumpet · 70-79, M
@Dazzle EverYoneZ a victiMz eepciaLLYz WimENZ.
ordinaryguy · 41-45, M
@Dazzle As I mentioned in one of other comments i try not to talk like governments. Lets think about the conditions of those times. There always have been a fight of strong and weak all around the world. From time to time some groups /nations just got more power thats all. Greeks were in anatolia before Turks. but ever thought of who were the real owners of anatolia ? IT is not greeks or turks. The answer is the ancient civilizations. And i can say that Turks are as much sory as Greeks for them to erase all those civilizations from the history.
Wiseacre · F
Yeah, that would explain ur hostile answer re. muslims..no qs!
ordinaryguy · 41-45, M
@Wiseacre you r being racist by discriminating ppl in ur posts.
Wiseacre · F
@ordinaryguy if u don't like me, don't answer..
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M

ordinaryguy · 41-45, M

Wiseacre · F
