I do. My life is changing because of it

SW-User
I do. I have high blood pressure and take meds for it, so I have to regularly monitor to make sure it stays in a healthy range and I know if my meds are good or need adjusted.

SW-User
Nope. I do have the old fashioned sphygmanometer; but it's useless on myself. I have found recently that limited caffeine consumption, and deep breathing exercise helps, for me.

SW-User
No, I bought one to monitor my health. I’m consistently 110/70 with resting heartbeat around 50. Those are athletic numbers.

Sounds like a good idea to have one. When anxiety was affecting my blood pressure i would get it checked every day.

Good advice. If you have an anxiety complex, probably the worst thing you can do about blood pressure is over-monitor it! Chronic anxiety, of itself, is not a known cause hypertension. But it can cause spikes in BP which, if the occur often enough, can have long-term effects. So taking your BP too often can be a vicious circle.
If you have discussed this with your doctor, but NOT been put on anti-hypertension medication, then your doctor clearly thinks you are not essentially hypertensive.
If there was any doubt, the usual next step is a 24 hour ambulatory BP measurement. This is now routine, low cost diagnostic procedure, and you should discuss it with your doctor.
But the best advice is what JUSTSAY IT says. - don't use your BP machine as every time you do, your BP will shoot up - self-fulfilling doom!
