Is it wrong that I only want a (male) friend and not a boyfriend?

I feel bad whenever someone misunderstands me thinking I'm into him, not to mention the disappointment that someone only thought of me as a partner and now I'm not interesting anymore...

How could it be “wrong” ? You want what you want. Basically as long as you’re upfront about it, nobody can say they misunderstood.
