What's the point of behaving rationally?

SW-User
Because reckless behavior isn't how we're taught to live in a respectable environment.

@SW-User Are rationality and recklessness related?
SW-User
@cultofaction Yeah you can be rational and still act recklessly with intent.
SW-User
A way to be when not irrational, ... to not be stuck in a rut.

The world wouldn’t be a better place without it
cultofaction · 26-30, M
@SW-User Are you sure?

Less prison time

It gets you a police state in the end, a leftist controlled technocracy. Sixty years of cow-towing to leftist extremism has created the most expansive and extensive police state in human history.

The left has managed to move the goal posts little by little. The irrationality of their ways is fully out in the open now. We all sat back and let it happen.

Rational law abiding citizens are under attack. We now have a government who can come lock you up by literally creating a crime out of thin air, and then look for or fabricate the "evidence" after you have been incarcerated. It's sick and getting sicker out there.

Everything is in place, you will never get into trouble
cultofaction · 26-30, M
@Sepia It's my opinion that a number of rational people have ended up in plenty of trouble.
Sepia · 36-40, F
@cultofaction ok..but their rational act saves them

For all the good it does, you have to wonder sometimes.

@Picklebobble2 One could argue that in incomplete-information games that the optimal strategy is often *not* to behave entirely rationally. It would seem that in a lot of ways humans are tuned to the incomplete-information game called life -- we don't always act rationally. Why are we attracted to the people we are? Why are we interested in the goals we choose? It's not entirely clear, as a purely rational being would make vastly different decisions. Yet somehow, we exist.

So you don't look like an idiot.
SW-User
Because every action has a reaction.
