Working third shift is a job skill in and of itself. Sleep as much as you can before and after so that you can become somewhat "used" to it. Good luck!

@Dayman I can share my experiences working third shift.
I was single and lived alone when I worked third shift a number of years ago. I would sleep for a few hours when I got home from work in the morning, and then go out in the afternoon to have a "daytime existence" and then I would have dinner early in the evening and then sleep for a few hours before I went into work. I got about eight hours of sleep total, in two four hour "blocks." I kept a somewhat "normal schedule" for the weekends. I avoided caffeine, and tried to maintain a healthy diet and get plenty of exercise. I went for long walks often during the afternoons and on weekends. I could do this because I had no one else living with me. I don't know your situation. I would gladly answer any questions you might have here or in PM.
