I find it gross because feet are dirty. It doesn't matter how well you take care of them. Being stuck in or out of shoes, walking on them makes them filthy. Not to mention the grime the builds up under the toenails. Unless you've just had a pedicure or washed and cleaned them throughly yourself, they are going to be nasty. It's just how feet are.
