Do you use the words "house" and "home" in the same manner?

Or do you differentiate them?

It's a tough distinction as the words are both synonymous and used differently.

Best Greek comparison I'd make is it's like the difference between σπίτι and οίκος.

@Qwerty14 yeah I guess the word οικία would be more like the word home (because it indicates familiarity with) while σπίτι would be more like house. Although οικία/οίκος are not used very often anyway (at least in Greece, I'm not sure about Cyprus).
@HannibalAteMeOut Yeah tbh I've never used the word οικία/οίκος and just use σπίτι to refer to both. The other thing though is "house" can refer to a place of work, a sector of government, a school building etc. Whereas home is only for a place someone lives. That's the main difference

@Qwerty14 yes, you're right, but now thinking about it we say "εκδοτικός οίκος" or "οίκος μόδας", so it's different for the english language.
