What is your favorite movie? And why?

Mine is What dreams may come.

It changes often but I love Gran Torino. It funny but it also shows how a man can change from being an asshole to an honorable man.

Omg, the ending should have been at P.F. Chang’s as they weren’t opening the fortune cookies, as then the will should have been read. @LyricalOne

@SW-User And pics of the food, which they’d post on SW as the final credits rolled.

Shawshank Redemption, because it shows no sign of hope and leaves you feeling like evil will be rewarded and goodness will be punished. Then it kicks you in the ass with hope and redemption that’s so unexpected you can’t help but be encouraged to keep on believing; there’s always hope.

@FoleysFollies I had no idea that Stephen King wrote that! Wow, I love his books but somehow that one escaped me.

Lord of the Rings

It just has it all, action, fantasy, adventure, comedy, romance.

I always liked the premise that that someone so small can make the biggest change.

There's lots of wisdom Tolkien imparts on us too

@JammieDodgerHeart I love lord of the rings! I adore Sam ...think he should have carried the ring all along lol but am open to suggestions as to how I may be wrong on that one 😄
JammieDodgerHeart · 26-30, F
@FoleysFollies Although Sam did very well in protecting Frodo. There's a reason Frodo was chosen. It's often hinted to because Frodo pent every drop of his power of will and body to get it there, and "no further." Another quote is 'Few others, possibly no others of his time, would have got so far.'

Frodo was also in possession of the ring for over a decade without knowing it, the time between the hobbit and the lord of the rings. That meant that the ring didn't have the draw or effect it did on others. This is shown throughout the movie as well, through characters like Boromir and Smeagol who were weakened by its power.

The whole premise is based on the fact that Frodo has something within him so that the effect of the ring wouldn't weaken him as much but of course he couldn't have done it without Sam! Sam's role suited him perfectly, because he is there at time's of weakness. "I Cannot carry it for you, but I can carry you" and that's exactly what his role was, he knew Frodo is the only one with the will power to carry the ring, which tells us he probably would have not had the willpower to do so for a long time too. But he knew that he is the only one that can carry Frodo. Because whilst Frodo embodies a pure goodness and willpower of the "small" folk Sam represents the kindness and love he needs to get him through 😆

There are too many good movies to say I have a favorite one. But here are some that I really like watching...

The Shawshank Redemption (great story)
The Bucket List (makes you think and feel)
The Decendants (hit close to home and made me feel what the characters felt)
Gone in sixty seconds (fun car chase scenes)
Star Wars (most but not all episodes)
Saving Private Ryan (makes me tear up)
Unforgiven (Clint Eastwood movies are great)
Forest Gump (classic)
The Wizard of Oz (classic)
Elf (hilarious)
It’s a Wonderful Life (Christmas classic)
Planes, Trains, and Automobiles (too funny with John Candy and Steve Martin)
Ghost (Whoopi Goldberg is sooo funny)

....many more that I really enjoy watching over and over

"Thombstone." 🤠Because I love cowboys and all the men are good looking. There's Sam Elliot (I LOVE his voice), Kurt Russell and a few others. I've watched it over 100 times over the years and never get tired of it. 💗🐎

They Live.

I love my 80s movies especially B grade horrors. But this movie in particular has a good subliminal warning of what humanity is evolving into.

I thought it was going to be a scary movie before I seen it for the first time when I was 7. But loved the movie ever since.@FoleysFollies

Crash, because we all crave that connection, that touch.
And when we have that lacking, we just bump into each other, if only for a moment.
