how come a person, can be "gone" but still show up as online?

got one now! says she is online, click and no longer a member of SW

oddly she has quit and come back a few time, in quick time too.

whuts up wit dat!

Because sometimes whenever you use google it may log in into your account on another tab, in your phone.

@Dshhh I had to read your question again.

After you deactivate your account, you can still access to check how many notifications/messages you have, then your profile will seem online. That includes if you left that page in another tab.

And if you are using another account and there are cookies left in your browser, you may seem online on the old one.
