Declaring a national emergency to hammer through non-emergent legislation because you've failed as a leader is pretty bad precedent.

@Nimbus He pissed away two years pretending Mexico would pay for the wall. The Democrats were voted in to stop him, and so he has to resort to a shut down and now maybe a national emergency.

And if you break this precedent, what stops some anti-gun nut in the future from declaring a national emergency to take everyone's guns?

Democracies mean you compromise and vote on things, not that you suspend the rules every time you can't get your shit together.
