Why are these called white grapes and not green grapes?

White grapes if they are used to make wine, green grapes if they are for eating.

@SW-User The green "table" grapes in the above photo are most likely Thompson Seedless grapes, which aren't usually used for wine. "White" grapes, which are an entirely different variety, but in a similar shade of green, are used for making white wine, such as Chardonnay.
