@Zonuss I don't want or pretend to speak for Carla, but I think that is the very point she's making.

I may be a victim of some crime for example. Once the deed is done, the crime is over, but the fear and anxiety etc doesn't just go away. If it remains, it can be debilitating and so must be dealt with on it's own so that I don't remain a victim.

Just my 2 cents.

@Budwick you are much like my lemon meringue pie. 7 pieces of wonderfulness. But that one piece, number 8. Too much lemon zest in that one triangle of crust. Just more sour than sweet. But, still, my favorite;)
