I keep waiting for a news story to surface where, inevitably, some of those who work on a wall will be Mexican labourers and will take their wages back to Mexico, meaning that rather then Mexico paying America to build the wall, America will have paid Mexico.

@GlassDog Interesting.
Others in your camp are waiting for stories to surface indicating that Trump colluded with Russia, or roasting children for dinner, or pushing old people off cliffs at Mara Lago.
Doncha think that Trump, who has made such a big deal over MAGA would press for American labor? Doncha think unions would also push for that? And, if there are Mexican laborers, doncha think they would be legal?

@GlassDog No problem. Your concern has been part of the problem for decades. It sure would be nice if we had people in congress and senate that were as thoughtful about this as you apparently are. Can you imagine how terrific it would be if there were bi-partisan solutions - that had you and I, the country first in mind? Instead of sick, perverted hatred designed to damage the president or others?
I don't claim to have the answers, but I bet there are people with some good ideas that could help if implemented.

@Budwick I should state that I'm looking at this as an outsider, as I'm not an American. I'm interested in your political model and process, but don't have the experiences or media influences that Americans would have, so I tend to look at things evidentially only.
In this case, I really was just thinking about the potential irony of the situation as opposed to making a political statement. As a manager, I seem to spend a lot of time making things watertight and predicting/preventing situations where my staff could be criticised. I'm sure at government level, this is exponentially more important, and it has surprised me that nobody has made the accusation yet (whether unfounded or not).

@GlassDog That is basically what will happen, except that U.S. taxpayers will pay for it. Trump supporters deserve to pay every penny for the wall they want. It’s everyone else here who is being robbed.

@GlassDog Glass - I appreciate your disclosure!
Presicent Trump has turned our political model and process upside down! For decades the media (which has been and continues to be more left / socialist) has made a living busting the chops of republicans. Republicans (many, not all) over time responded by becoming less vocal and more apologetic and left leaning. They would talk a good game on the campaign trail but vote to keep themselves from being lambasted by the media. It's the very reason why Trump was elected! To stand up to the media, to fight back. He's done well in my opinion.
Trump and his every move and word are under 24/7 scrutiny. If someone in his circle farts in public - it's front page news. Given the size of government and viciousness of MSM, 'watertight' isn't possible. And, given the growing number of people willing to look at socialism as a new direction - they simply echo what ever the MSM has been saying.
The future of the USA and I dare say the world depends a great deal on the success or failure of Donald Trump.
